May 19, 6 Frames of Reno in Infrared

I’ve been a bit intrigued by infrared photos for a while now, so I finally bought a couple rolls of Rollei Infrared 400 and a 720 nm infrared lens to fit the Voigtlander Color Skopar 2mm. The 720nm filter reduces the light coming in by 5 stops, so I was effectively shooting at ISO 12.

I’m a little ambivalent about these photographs. I do like the infrared effect, but I think I might like it a little more if the infraredness of it was just a little less apparent. I think I’ll invest in a 590nm filter before I shoot the remaining roll of IR film.

Some Brutalistish Apartment Buildings in Midtown. I think that for me, part of the charm of this shot (if it actually has any), is that the IR effect is a bit less apparent here.
